It's a girl....

We’re all on tenterhooks waiting to hear whetherKate Middleton will give birth to a boy or a girl (maybe even today!), and not even the parents-to-be know the sex of their unborn child.
But a huge change has recently come about in the way the British monarchy operates—the Succession to the Crown Act 2013, which will make Kate and Prince William‘s child next to William in line for the throne, regardless of its gender.
Queen Elizabeth II has been monarch since 1952, but if her father, George VI, had given birth to a son, it is likely that she would never have been crowned queen.
The parents will be delighted with the new arrival, whether it is the Prince or the Princess of Cambridge—but a girl will signify something a little bit more special.
